West Virginia native Anna Jarvis founded Mother’s Day to honor her own mother’s dedication to improving the lives of women, children, and families. Anna later chafed at the commercialization of the day, and truly wanted a day to celebrate mothers and all their sacrifices and contributions for the sake of their families. In the spirt of her vision for the holiday, please join The West Virginia Women's Alliance to take a moment to celebrate "the woman of your heart"—any woman who has inspired, mentored, supported or otherwise made a difference in your life. Your support helps us continue our mission to realize "What Mother's Want" on Mother's Day—to uplift and empower West Virginia women, strengthen families, and build a brighter future for generations to come.

Honor the “woman of your heart” with the West Virginia Women's Alliance at our celebration of strong West Virginia women at the historic Ruffner House.

Join us to honor the mothers and inspiring women in our lives with an evening of delicious food, refreshing drinks, and the stories of the unsung accomplishments and achievements of the women who have shaped us. 

Invite your special pick or bring friends! Your participation and contribution will not only recognize these amazing mentors and mothers but will go to support of our mission to uplift and advocate for women and families across West Virginia.
